Discrimination at the World Cup? Not what you might expect

This Absurd Man was shocked to hear while watching ABC's coverage of the World Cup Soccer final Sunday that French coach Raymond Domenech discriminates. He is such a firm believer in astrology that he did not allow any Scorpios to play in the game. On top of that he also only allowed two Leos to play in Sunday's game. It is an outrage that the national team of the enlightened French Republic which is founded on fraternity and equality would allow this to happen. I hope that some civil rights lawyer is ready to defend these downtrodden Scorpios and Leos.

Monsieur Domenech better re-check the stars, and deal another hand of tarot cards because Absurd Men Speak's got his number.

Hmmm. Don't know French law. Don't know much English-American law either. But I do wonder if the fact that your astrological sign is an immutable trait would qualify it as a suspect class?

And I'm kinda glad Zidane did what he did--"tragic" as the loss was. Unsportsmanlike too I know. And not at all Christ-like. But, golly Matterazi is such a primo pr**** and plays dirty, dirty!!!!!

It makes perfect sense to me. Traditionally too many Leos on the field allowed for hunting pack mentality. We all remember the scurge of the 1896 World Cup when Prussia fielded an almost all Leo team against Lapland's foolish Aries, Taurus, Pisces, Virgo line-up. The Lapanders were savaged that day, most eaten leaving only their traditional pomped footwear on the feild.

And hell, who can trust a Scorpio?
